What if a person was shown the localized effects that buying a product might have on climate, cancer, water quality, storm intensity, air pollution, drought, coral bleaching, food supply, fires, flooding, coastal wetland loss, peace, malnutrition, cardio-respiratory disease, sea level, tropical diseases and the economy.
ecofxMeta is about getting numbers related to those correlations -- even if we have to tell readers that there is a broad margin of error. Every purchase, every product, every service, every choice makes an ecological impact in a human's, an animal's and/or an ecosystem somewhere -- and can be demonstrated at a statistical level.
So, let's need to go after those numbers with some bold statistical modeling.
Until we decide our main meeting place, for a next few days, we are inviting Meta participants to post their ecofxMeta formula proposals, calculations and general correlation solutions here on the http://ecofx.org/wiki/index.php?title=Wiki:Community_Portal page. And/or, a person might want to post their ideas to their own blog and then add a link and a summary there, and/or post it to ecofx Facebook.

The <a href="http://www.ecofx.org/card/">ecofx pledge card</a> states:
Before buying (or offering) a product or service, I pledge to estimate the ecological effects it has on natural habitat, on humankind, extinction and/or climate change, and then decide if the personal benefit
outweighs the environmental impact.
As an ecofx member I will:
1/ Use ecofx matrixes and formulas to find out what impact the products or services that I might use (or might offer) have on habitat (in m2 or ft2), other lifeforms (in kg or lbs) and the biosphere.
2/ Show others how to find out the ecofx of products, services and choices.
